Previous Applicants

If you have previously applied through HOBAN Recruitment and your application was unsuccessful, we would welcome another application from you. There are specific requirements relating to repeat applications.

If were unsuccessful after your application was received or after the telephone interview, you are eligible to reapply 3 months from the date you were notified of this result.

If you were unsuccessful after the Suitability Assessment, you are eligible to reapply 12 months from the date you were notified this result.

If you were unsuccessful after the Assessment Centre (due to interview, group activity or work sample results) you are eligible to reapply 6 months from the date you were notified of these results.

Offence History

Relevant offence history and security checks are completed in accordance with Victorian Government policy as part of the application process for the Community  or Field Officer roles. This includes a Consent to Check and Release National Police Record, a driving history check and a Community Corrections Security Clearance.

If you have ever been charged with, or convicted of, any offence in Victoria or elsewhere in your lifetime, you must declare it on your application.

Please note: charges and convictions include criminal offences, intervention orders, bankruptcy notices, general arrest or summons procedures, juvenile offences, any infringement or traffic notices in your lifetime. The only offences you are not required to declare are parking tickets.

Australian Working Rights

To apply for the position of Community Corrections Officer or Field Officer, you must hold suitable working rights for Australia and be:

An Australian Citizen Permanent Resident or NZ Citizen Non-citizen with valid visa
A birth certificate, citizenship certificate or current passport is proof of eligibility. An Australian Permanent Resident or a New Zealand Citizen with working rights in Australia.A passport with a permanent visa or certificate of evidence of resident status is proof of eligibility. A non-citizen with a valid visa that provides work rights that meet the role requirements.A current passport containing the visa is proof of eligibility.

You will need to provide original documents at the assessment centre stage of the recruitment process as evidence of your right to work.

Age Restrictions

As you will be required to supervise adult offenders, you must be over 18 years of age.

Previously taken a Public Service Voluntary Redundancy Package

If you are a previous Victorian Public Service employee and have taken a Voluntary Redundancy Package, you must wait a period of three years from the date of your voluntary retrenchment before seeking re-employment with a government agency.
