Victoria’s Community Correctional Services (CCS) was established in 1984 and oversees the supervision of adult offenders (aged 18 years and over) sentenced by the Courts to serve community-based orders, or conditionally released from prison by the Adult Parole Board (APB).
CCS plays a vital role in providing advice to the Courts and the APB, rehabilitating offenders and providing viable community-based sentencing and release options for offenders.
CCS uses an evidence-based case management model that focuses on effective management of risk and ensuring offender access to, and engagement in, appropriate programs, services and activities in order to assist them to make positive behavioural change and adopt law-abiding lifestyles.
In 2011, CCS will also be preparing for changes in sentencing laws and will be actively working toward the delivery of a strengthened service delivery model that will enhance the capacity of CCS to effectively manage offenders in the community and reduce re-offending.
Entry-level Community Corrections Officer and Field Officer roles are based in both metropolitan and regional locations and state-wide vacancies are advertised several times a year.
